DOWNTOWN.   The former winter homes for Henry Ford and Thomas Edison now act as a great source for the histories of two of America's icons right in Fort Myers. Activities at the museums include rotating exhibits, original inventions, and educational theaters that detail the achievements of these icons' lives. These Fort Myers historic sites feature plenty of original furniture, as well as a lovely botanical garden where visitors can admire hundreds of tropical flowers.   (© 10Best)

I have visited the Edison & Ford estates on a tour back in the 1970's and plan to revisit Fort Myers to bring my husband to see this wonderfully, interesting, and historical site. I was fascinated with all the history and the labs and this first bamboo in the ground pool that Edition had built on the property and all his quirks and his genius of so many things not just the invention of the light bulb. I found this very interesting and would highly recommend this tour.
