7. Thomas Edison Laboratory & Museum

DOWNTOWN.   Specifically dedicated to Edison's inventions, the Thomas Edison Laboratory & Museum in Fort Myers showcases this American icon's work for everyone to enjoy. Displaying a great deal of his work and experiments, the museum has a lot to offer. Perhaps what make this one of the better Ft Myers activities are the 14 acres of gorgeous landscaping, including some of Edison's dearest horticultural efforts. A landmark site indeed.   (© 10Best)

A guide leads you through the ground of the estates of Edison and Ford. There is also a wide collection of plant life from around the world. The guides are very knowledgable about the history of the families, buildings and plant life. A must see while visiting the Fort Myers area.
