SOUTHWEST FORT WORTH.   Established in 1909 and located west of Downtown Fort Worth, this facility is the oldest continuously operating zoo in the state. It's home to more than 430 species of animals, and its wide array of exhibits includes World of Primates, Asian Falls, and Raptor Canyon. Texas Wild! is a hands-on exhibit that teaches about the state's various regions. Strollers, motorized carts, and wagons are available for rent.   (© 10Best)

Don't go on a weekend if you don't have to. The lack of manners of people still astounds me. Other than that it's an excellent zoo. Perfect for small children, mine loved it when we got out of the crowds long enough to see anything. The Aviary is especially interesting, I live in the country and see bald eagles nesting for years, but to learn and see all of this up close is great.
