8. The Aardvark

A TCU student favorite, this happening club offers a host of live bands. The place has a knack for booking talents before they hit the mainstream, so you're likely to find the hottest acts right on the cusp of the big time. A variety of musical styles is represented by performers, and the ambience is as casual or as upscale as you care to make it with your circle of friends. The party atmosphere isn't one of over-the-top wildness but good-natured camaraderie. Folks often stop by to have a few drinks (amaretto sours are the house specialty) and to take in the great music.
