ROANOKE.   This inviting restaurant, which has a sister establishment in Southlake, has developed quite a following thanks to its great menu and ambience. The New American cuisine takes local ingredients and throws in global sophistication so that you're met by Asian-marinated chicken, grilled pork with tamarind-raisin chutney, and a medley of grilled meats and seafood served with a tangy sauce. Steaks and fresh fish also make appearances, and daily specials bring unanticipated pleasures. Salads are satisfying but light enough for those who crave smaller portions. You'll have to drive a bit to reach Classic Cafe, but the excellent cuisine is a just reward for your efforts.   (© 10Best)

The Classic Cafe was a gem back a few years ago, but on a recent visit the food was way below par. I witnessed one of the managers eating off of a guest's plate as he was taking it back to the kitchen. Very disappointing and disgusting. Hopefully the owners can raise the bar again and make the Classic a gem in this area again. They have cut too many corners in quality.
