This is great food and atmosphere
Honestly great food and a fun atmosphere! When we go to Fort Worth we go Joe T. Garcia's. Yes, you have to pay with cash and there are only two items on the menu, but that is why it is so good. This place would not be in business for 60+ years and all over the food network if is stunk. Go and enjoy!

Get over it.
One does not go to Joe T's for the excelent quality of food. What makes Joe T's so great is the margaritas, the atmosphere, the people you see (assuming you are a local), and lets not forget the duet that sings to you while you dine. Let's be honest, once you have finished just one of their magnificent margaritas, their food tastes amazing and you are having such a good time, you don't care. If you are looking for good mexican food, go somewhere else, but if you want an experience that you won't get anywhere else, go to Joe T's. It as fort worth as it gets!

Barf.....
40-yr resident of Ft. Worth. It is mind blowing to me people actually think the food here is good. Not only is it not good, it is disgusting. I'm Hispanic and and ashamed so many come here and think this is what Mexican food tastes like. Beautiful scenery and patio if you just want a drink - but have plenty of Tums handy if you plan on eating. Dos Molinas or El Asadero are much better places to eat nearby.

Fort Worth locals know better than to expect good food or decent service at Joe T's. The food is mediocre. If you have a large party, then you have to wait for everyone to arrive before you are seated. If you ask questions, you are given short answers by people who seem annoyed that you are speaking to them. If you expect to be treated like a paying customer and with respect, try La Playa up the street or Uncle Julio's off the freeway. If you want to be treated like cattle and eat overpriced, bland Mexican food at a place with a pretty patio, then Joe T's is your place.

These people writing these horrible reviews ought to have their heads examined. Joe T. Garcia's is the best Mexican food anywhere, hands down. You don't need a menu...true, it's fajitas or enchiliadas, but the Enchilada Dinner comes with 2 nachos, 2 tacos, 2 enchiladas, rice and beans, chips and salsa. The beef fajitas are truly the best anywhere. I have never tasted beef so flavorful. The corn tortillas are the best treat after dinner with some butter. They are made in-house and are second to none. Expect a line anytime during dinner....if there's always a line, the food has got to be fantastic. You would be wise not to listen to all the nay-sayers.

This is by far one of the lousiest places I have ever been. First off, they dont even give you a menu to show you what your choices are. Then if two people order the same thing, they bring it on one plate and make you eat off that. Then when they bring the check, you can forget about using a credit card. Its cash only. Apparently they havent caught up with the 21st century and dont allow credit cards. I was really upset after leaving there.

Worst experience i ever had. Menu couldn't explain itself because there was no menu to choose from. Pay by cash or check. McDonald's has a card swipe. Embarrassing

We were new in Fort Worth and wanted to see what all the excitement was surrounding Joe T. Garcia's reputation. What a horrible disappointment. I don't mind the limited menu if only at least one of the offerings was decent! It was a huge letdown and I would not recommend it to anyone.

After 6 months in Iraq I was looking
forward to a good meal. I was outvoted
by the Joe T's zombies who continue to
flock to this over rated, overpriced,
nasty dump. I felt safer on some convoy
trips than I did after dark in this gang
banger haven. I have lived in Cowtown for
35 years and this place is resting on
their laurels from my Paschal High days.

Joe T. Garcia's is one of those necessary to attend restaurants because everyone else is going there. People love it for the atmosphere and the crowd. The place is huge, and they have set up several different banquet areas as well as private dining areas in addition to the general seating. The dinner menu is so simple they don't bring you a menu. You get either fajitas or the enchilada/taco combo plate. These three things make this a very desirable place to have a party of any kind. Lots of rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions are had at Joe T's. It is unfortunate that the food isn't better. Everyone from Ft. Worth has this huge devotion to it, seemingly because of the grandeur and all the partying that gets done there. However, the fajitas, while the meat is very tasty, usually come out tepid at best. Aside from the meat being cold, the tortillas are just run of the mill, despite the fact they are made in-house. The salsa is also terribly average. As with the fajitas, the enchiladas come out as they are cooling instead of bubbling. The cheese has begun to congeal each of the six times I have had the misfortune to be invited to Joe T's. The sides are usually fairly fresh, and sometimes the service from the TCU students is good, but don't go there expecting to have a fabulous dinner. Joe T's has an okay margarita, since they are also made by college students. However, this is the way to weather the storm. Get good and liquored up, enjoy your good company, and fill your belly with mediocre food. If you drink enough beforehand you don't notice the flavor, or lack thereof, quite as much.

Joe T's is one of a kind. Expect a line. Expect a very limited menu (fajitas or cheese enchiladas). Try to get a table by the pool (not for swimming). We had our pre- wedding party there. We love this place.
