5. Rheingau Wine Festival

The Buzz -- Each year, Rhinegau winemakers gather in the "Freßgass," Frankfurt's fine restaurant area in its upmarket pedestrian shopping district. This popular 10-day event sees 400,000 visitors come to experience more than 600 wines from the Rhinegau region at 30 vendor booths. Wines range from sparkling varieties and light, summer fare to full-bodied, fine wines. Food is offered to complement the wines at stands throughout the area.
