10. Woodward Regional Park

Water aplenty runs near and through this park, which borders the San Joaquin River and boasts its own ponds, streams, and lakes. Birdwatchers frequent the property in hopes of spotting rare species, and other folks come to picnic, bike, walk, and play. Restrooms, picnic facilities, and even well-conceived Japanese gardens add to Woodward's allure. In fact, you'd never know you were so close to the city.   (© 10Best)
