6. Santa Fe Basque Restaurant

For more than 75 years, this long-lived restaurant has been serving the people of Fresno. Interior surroundings are comfortable, although not elaborate, but they're not the reason folks visit anyway. The food is a bonanza of satisfaction, from lamb loin chops to fried chicken, orange roughy, and calamari almandine. Steaks, pork chops, prime rib, and spareribs also elicit moans of pleasure.
