CROSS CREEK.   The Yearling Restaurant is located near the former home of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, and shares its name with her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. This Gainesville restaurant is famous for its delicious soul food, prepared with seasonal ingredients. The knotty pine walls give this eatery its unique, early Florida feel. Most restaurants in Gainesville revolve around a theme of sports, but this classy establishment serves up regional Floridian cuisine in tribute to a favorite local author.   (© 10Best)

Maybe it's "good" but it's not really in Gainesville
The Yearling is in Cross Creek. The only reason to go there would be if you were visiting Marjorie Kinnan Rawling's house, a significant distance outside of the town of Gainesville, Florida.
