6. Galena/Jo Daviess County History Museum

Located in an 1850s-era Italian-style mansion, this interesting museum was formerly home to a wealthy retailer. Artifacts, clothing, photographs, furniture, toys, dolls, artwork and other household goods are displayed. Local history exhibits address mining, the Civil War's influence on the area, and geology.
