3. Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort

Perched 475 feet above the Mississippi River, the Chestnut Mountain Resort offers outstanding views of the surrounding countryside as well as a wealth of interesting activities year round. Winter fun for all skill levels comes in the form of skiing and snowboarding on hills serviced by nine lifts. Summer excitement centers around the resort's Alpine Sled, a wheeled sled that races down a 2,050-foot toboggan-type track. The resort also offers a miniature golf course, three hiking rails, stables, a full service restaurant and retail venues.
