With a population of just over 3000, Galena boasts local events with a neighborly feel. Many residents know each other and welcome the opportunity to see familiar faces and greet visitors with open arms. In addition to the friendly feeling that pervades, another reason for the success of the annual area events is the way that they showcase the beautiful and industrious countryside Galena calls home. Events like Old Market Day, the Galena Farmers Market, and the Guided Farm Tour highlight farming, farm produce and the country life of this community. Events like the Galena Country Fair and the nearby Elizabeth Fair offer family fun as well.
