3. Independence Day Fireworks

The Buzz -- Head to Galena's Grant Park to celebrate the 4th by watching a great fireworks display. Bring a picnic snack and a blanket or chair to sit on. The best viewing area is on the river's west side. Note that the park is closed during the afternoon of the 4th in preparation for the fireworks and that the display begins at 9:30pm. Another Independence Day celebration to remember is the parade on Main Street, which features floats and marching bands. The parade is held at 5:30pm.
