7. Hall of Presidents

Uuughhh! I can't believe it even placed.
I LOVE Gettysburg. I have been their numerous times. I love everything about it except this museum. It is DULL, DULL,DULL. My husband picked it out and with us being history buffs..I thought..why not? After all, wax presidents..how cool! That is until we got there. You sit in room while a tape recording of each of the presidents in that room say a little something. And there are multiple presidents in each room. Within the first 5 minutes,I knew this was a mistake of GIGANTIC PROPORTION! And you can't jump ahead and go at your leisure. NO! You must sit and hear the dull tellings of each and every one. They aren't even life size. None the less. We laughed and vowed that my husband was never, ever allowed to pick another museum. Save your mom and do something awesome like Shriver House museum. Now that is GREAT!

This museum does a good in giving you brief history lesson on all the Presidents- who they where and the things they did while in office. I've gone here many times over the years, and this museum is great about keeping up with the current presidents. There is a hall devoted to President Eisinhover and upstairs there is a hall of first ladies dressed in their gowns they wore.

I first saw this museum when I was nine, and I was fascinated. Having seen it again as an adult, I found many of the likenesses to be of poor quality, and the presentations are superficial at best. Not a bad introduction for children, but adult history buffs will be disappointed.
