 EDITOR REVIEW: This stadium is said to be the oldest football stadium in the world and it is host to the national soccer team of Scotland, as well as the Queen's Park Football Club. Operating since 1867, Hampden also claims the record for the largest attendance at a sporting event in Britain, when almost 150,000 showed up to watch Scotland and England battle it out in 1937. Though still in operation, the stadium is currently under renovation thanks to lottery funds from the United Kingdom Millennium Commission. |
