If you can grab it, sit in the cozy snug (a small private booth) for a beer before heading to the lounge to hear rock, pop, or blues. The excellent selection of real ales served behind the long, heavy bar is complemented by a nice selection of wines and good pub grub such as sandwiches and shepherd's pie – if you get there before 5pm.
