Stravagin is an old-fashioned Scottish word that means "wandering around," and if you are wandering around deciding where to have dinner, this is the place to end your journey. The contemporary Scottish cuisine has won numerous prestigious awards from critics, fellow chefs, and the general public by combining Scottish tradition with influences from around the world. Settle into a cozy alcove and enjoy char-grilled salmon on noodles with peanut and lemongrass sauce or mussels with sweet chili. Reservations recommended. Business casual dress.   (© 10Best)

Indifferent Service =================== I have eaten several times in Stravaigin2 and enjoyed it. As there were several of us we thougth we would try the main restaurant out. Big mistake. We may have been very unlucky or if this is standard service, then you really should take your business elsewhere. There was no friendly hello when we were all seated at our tables (we had to ask for menus). Instead "what do you want to drink" was the opener. It took half an hour for our meal to arrive. Even then, it was only after we asked for it! The restaurant wasn't busy so not sure why 6 relatively simple meals took so long and didn't all arrive at one time. We were at least offered "free" coffee for the delay. The food itself was good, although the chips tasted re-fried and one portion of fish looked as if it was from the slimmers menu. Places like Stravaigin have made their name on good value food and great service. This was sorely missing for us, no interaction, no warmth and the only feeling was ambivalence. Rather spoiled the 50th birthday festivities. If I was you I would take your business to other restuarants where it will likely be much more apprecaited.
