EDITOR REVIEW: SOUTH RIM. Dining at this historic, character-laden hotel is a must for many Grand Canyon visitors; as a result, getting reservations can be tough, especially in peak season. The rustic restaurant boasts elegant details, and tables overlooking the canyon are especially coveted. The cuisine, widely reputed to be the park's finest, meshes Continental and Southwestern sensibilities, and the menu features such delicacies as grilled filet mignon, pan-seared duck, fresh salmon with red-pepper marmalade, seared scallops, and wild game. Service is attentive, and although prices can be steep, the experience is a wonderful vacation treat. Full bar available. |
