NORTH RIM. The signature restaurant of this historic lodge is essentially the main dining room on the North Rim and accommodates most folks who visit this side of the Grand Canyon. As such, reservations are mandatory and should be made as far in advance as possible. Even given its limited competition, the cuisine is quite good, and amid rustic surroundings, you can tuck into steak, seafood, roast pork, chicken, and pastas. Try, for example, bourbon butter ribeye, red trout filet with maple pecan crust, and a combination plate of duck and prime rib. Californian wines are prevalent, and the breakfast buffet is much applauded by hungry visitors. Reservations are required for dinner and can be made up to two months in advance.
