 EDITOR REVIEW: JACOB LAKE. If you're weary after hours spent driving to the North Rim, this compound is like an oasis on the horizon. Comprised of a motel, restaurant, general store, gas station, soda fountain, and gift shop, it takes care of needs both physical and emotional. The restaurant, paneled in knotty pine and adorned with Native American textiles, offers plenty of comfort foods, including baked chicken, trout, braised beef, and jagerschnitzel. You'll also find sandwiches, soups, and great pies. Plus, the place features homemade cookies and fabulous milkshakes, depending on how much time you have!
