GREEN BAY.   Sprawling across 700 acres, Bay Beach offers nature-lovers a beautiful setting for exploration, learning, and fun. Bird-watchers will be happy to find that the park's water and wild areas are home to approximately 250 distinct species of birds, including more than 3500 ducks and geese. The Nature Education Center features three levels of hands-on exhibits, and the Observation Wing allows guests to view live birds of prey and the critters "enrolled" in Bay Beach's rehabilitation program. Meanwhile, wolves, bobcats, flying squirrels, and otters are alive and kicking in the Woodland Building, located along the park's Wildlife Habi-Trek Trail.   (© 10Best)

Watch out for the geese!
Upon arriving to the wildlife sanctuary we went to the bird area. There were lots of geese and ducks that would not get off the paths which was really annoying. The paths in this area were covered in poop that visitors were stepping in and rolling through with strollers. The caretakers were feeding the birds dead chickens, which was gross! The part of the park with deer and other wildlife was very well done, especially the otters. The indoor exhibits were both questionable and a little disturbing, especially all of the dead animals that were stuffed and on display in the exhibit.

I still love going here with the kids & purchasing a paper lunch bag of corn for the ducks. Even if the ducks aren't eating, the kids enjoy throwing it out for them. It's really expanded over the years. I remember only a row of some animals & the ducks. Now they have a big museum like building with stuff to look at. I get lost trying to figure out where to go, so I stay close to the first building & then wander by the ducks in the water near the parking lot. I don't get to the building too often.
