On Saturday, August 9, 2003, I and 5 other adults went to Victoria's on Main St. All of us have experienced Victoria's on Bay Settlement Rd. and have thoroughly enjoyed our experiences. However, we were highly disappointed and displeased with the service, actually lack of service, at the Main Street restaurant. When we came in there was a group of ladies waiting ahead of us. They had been waiting quite a while for a seat. The host was rude to them in manner of tone and telling them they needed to wait longer. After they were finally seated we waited at least 15 minutes for someone to come and acknowledge that we were waiting for a seat. After this 15-20 minutes a host came and told us it would be another 20-minute wait. Mind you, this is at 2:00 in the afternoon. Half of the restaurant had no one even seated in it. We waited for an additional 45 minutes, and then were seated in 2 different booths. We sat at the tables for at least 15 minutes and not one server or waitress made an attempt to at least give us water or ask if we were ready to order. Not that there weren't waitresses around, they just seemed like they did not want to wait on any more tables. We got up and left the dining area. On the way out, my brother-in-law spoke to the young man who "seemed" to be the "host" for the afternoon, about the rather bad service we had received. As we walked away his only comment was, "Oh well!" Needless to say they lost at least $80.00 in business and tips that afternoon, and future trips to Victoria's on Main St. will no longer be made and we all will certainly pass on the way we were treated at the Restaurant and discourage them from visiting with their business also.
