10. Weatherspoon Art Museum

With art pieces such as a bronze sculpture by Matisse and "Woman I" by de Kooning in its collection, the Weatherspoon Art Gallery is quite impressive. Located on the University of North Carolina-Greensboro campus, the gallery features six exhibit areas and a sculpture courtyard. The emphasis is on modern and American art, and although the gallery hosts a variety of touring exhibits, it is the collection of contemporary artists such as Andy Warhol that brings the gallery notoriety. One of the Weatherspoon's most renowned collections is the Cone Collection featuring both bronze works and paintings by Henri Matisse.   (© 10Best)
