About Greenville Attractions & Activities
Surrounded by mountainous terrain and filled with cultural attractions, Greenville beckons all to explore. Visit Main Street on a sunny day, and you'll find folks congregated in Falls Park to picnic, stroll and admire the park's focal point - a picturesque waterfall on the Reedy River. On summer nights, there's likely to be a Shakespeare in the Park performance on the lawn, or Greenville Drive baseball game at West End Field several blocks away. Classical concerts, musicals, ballets and theater productions frequently appear at the nearby Peace Center, and at the other end of the neighborhood lies the Bi-Lo Center, where you may catch major pop concerts and sports events. In addition to great theater and music, Greenville offers several museums that cultivate an appreciation for fine art. A short distance from Main Street, the Greenville County Museum is famous for its collection of paintings by Andrew Wyeth, while the Museum & Galleries at Bob Jones University possesses numerous original works by the Old Masters. Outside the city, several parks provide an opportunity to have a little more adventure and discover some of the area's natural treasures.
