EAST NORTH STREET.   Tastefully adapted from a former fast-food restaurant, Pho #1 has been bathed in neutral colors, dressed in linens, and given a bright, spacious revamp. Even better, the food is incredible, always prepared to order from fresh ingredients. Naturally, the signature noodle soup is available in many variations, but it's joined by vermicelli bowls, rice plates, pad Thai options and stir-fry dishes. Plus, meatless dishes provide many options for vegetarians. A wonderful excursion into lesser-known Asian fare.   (© 10Best)

One of my favorite restaurant in Greenville. Excellent food (especially Hibatchi chicken and vermicelli bowls. Julie the owner will cook anything to your taste and will go out of her way to make your meal a pleasant experience. Cuisine is very healthy. I've eaten here twice a week on average and have never been disappointed.

We ordered the Japanese hibachi chicken and shrimp for dinner. We were served coconut chicken soup which tasted ok for the first few bites, and then was too overpowering. Then, we were served salads that were acceptable. We then received our entree's completely drowning in teriyaki sauce. Upon asking the waitress for what we ordered (hibachi, not teriyaki) we were told that this is hibachi. We again said that what we wanted was hibachi style chicken/shrimp meaning no sauce. Every other Japanese restaurant in town cooks it this way and my friend had also gotten take out several times and it was always the way we wanted it - without the teriyake sauce. They refused to remake our entrees as we wanted them, and we did not like the taste of what we had. Eventually we had to speak to the manager, who also argued with us about what we had ordered, to have the meals removed. My friend had a water and they charged her for the salad she ate. The total was $2.11. They took my credit card (I paid another's meal), but insisted they could not take hers for the small amount of $2.11. Then, the waitress told me that she would put it on my card and my friend could pay me back later. Upon telling her that this was not MY problem several times, she DID run my friend's card through for the charge of $2.11. Atmosphere is very nice, but everything is downhill from there. Highly recommend staying away from this place. Rude staff and a waste of money.
