3. Smokin' Stokes

Love the location and the Cheerwine sauce. Don't like the seasoned fries... but why would I get fries when I can have baked beans?

Wow! visiting Greenville and checking out BBQ places. Smokin Stokes is awesome! Cheerwine sauce, BBQ potato, and beef brisket were all to die for. Staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was by far the nicest of all the places i visited. I also tried the seasoned french fries and thought the seasoning tasted wonderful. Can't wait to get back to Greenville!

Some of you may have seen my posts on other restaurants here in Greenville. Well, as far as BBQ places go Smokin' Stokes is by-far my favorite. The meat and the sauces here are what won me over. The meat is tender with the just the right combination of smoke and spice to leave you wanting just one more bite. What makes it really good is that the meat is great for those who love sauce and those BBQ fans who just prefer to let the meat stand on its own. Now as for the sides, well I am not going to say that they are the best I have ever had, but they are pretty good. And, what the sides lack the meat definitely makes up for. If you enjoy BBQ, you should give this place a try. 5/5 for Smokin' Stokes- excellent BBQ, Wonderful sauces, reasonable prices, comfortable/friendly atmosphere.

The barbecue here is great! Love the Cheerwine sauce! But ask for your fries without seasoning--the seasoning has a lot sugar in it and ruined my entire portion of french fries--it made them sweet. "Pared-down" is and understatement, this place is a hole-in-the-wall. But isn't that where the best barbecue comes from?

If you have a BBQ potato you will never look at BBQ the same again. It was GREAT, the staff was friendly and eager to help you. Prices were reasonable. Where else can you get RC Cola, Grape & Orange Nehi?
