HAYWOOD ROAD.   Although it looks like a fast food eatery, Five Guys rises head and shoulders above run-of-the-mill quick food. They specialize in hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, and grilled cheese sandwiches (you can get a veggie burger), but what they do, they do incredibly well. Everything is prepared fresh daily, and there's not a freezer in sight. As a result, quality is high and folks are won over immediately. Portions are more than generous, and while you wait for your order to come up, you're invited to munch on free peanuts. And just so you know: Here, a "little" burger is a full-sized patty, and a "regular" consists of two whole patties. Eat hearty! There's a second location at 3935 Pelham Road (864-288-3950).   (© 10Best)

If you love big, juicy hamburgers and greasy fries, then this is the place to go. The service has always been quick, the prices are great and the food is great, but raises your cholesterol pretty quickly. It's perfect for stopping in for lunch or getting something to go.

Great burgers and terrific fries, but very slow service. A few other made to order fresh burger places in the area are a lot faster. A cheeseburger, regular fries and drink will run you just over $8. Again, very good food, especially if you are not in a hurry.
