DOWNTOWN.   This old-fashioned, family steakhouse has weathered the storms of downtown's fortunes. Now a venerable institution, its casual, no-frills ambiance pulls in a cast of dedicated locals. The steaks are fantastic and come with an iceburg salad and either fries or a baked potato. Chicken and pork chops are also available. The staff is friendly and efficient, adding to the relaxed feel of this well-loved place.   (© 10Best)

horrible
This place was BAD. Wilted salad, cold bread...tough steack, dirty dishes. I couldn't even eat my food. We had also heard good things and were shocked at how horrible it was. I e-mailed the owners and never heard back. If they closed soon....it won't be soon enough.

Some people call this restaurant a downtown institution. I call it a dinosaur that has done nothing to modernize and compete with current restaurants/taste. I suppose diners were once satisfied with bland steak, white bread and iceburg lettuce salad but now we expect a little more. Food was overpriced and substandard, atmosphere was depressing. We took some visiting relatives here and were sorely disappointed. They ordered cole slaw as a side and were brought plain shredded cabbage and some sauce and instructed to mix their own. Supposedly this allows you to make it to your own taste. A better suggestion would be if the restaurant could make really good cole slaw, all by themselves. If you are looking for a nice dinner out, look elsewhere.

Food is overrated. I heard that this place was great and my husband and I tried it 2 times and we were disappointed both times. Steak was tough! Bread was cold and taken directly out of a loaf bread sack because I saw the waitress do it.
