4. Coffee Underground

This is a really nice place downtown to just go, relax, and have a snack or lunch. When meeting up with a client we always go here, b/c the atmosphere works out great to talk business.

It's got a good vibe. Nice place to meet up with some friends. Surprisingly to me, you can grab a beer here too, which is unusual for a coffee shop. They've got a good list of specialty coffees, lattes, hot chocolates, etc. Also have some nice desserts.

Service is laid-back and friendly. Try the Bailey's Irish Cream Frappuccino - great!

A great spot to get coffee and dessert after a show at the Peace Center. It's kind of romantic.

I have visited Coffee Underground every now and then since it opened, and each time I walk in the door I think "Why don't I come here more often?" I love the atmosphere--the rooms are cosy and warm and the place smells good. My favorite menu items are the strawberry cake and the quiche. When I am not in the mood for coffee, I like the peach cider (the thought of peach cider scared me at first, but I am glad I tried it). When I am waiting for my food I wander around and look at the artwork on the walls (which changes more frequently than I vist Coffee Underground) or flip through the free newspapers (such as Creative Loafing) that are available. I like to bring out-of-town guests to Coffee Underground because it is one of the downtown businesses that are redefining Greenville and helping the town become a vibrant and diverse place.

This is a great place to visit. I really had a great time here and the food was great too.
