WEST END. This compact district is an adjunct to Greenville's larger downtown area. It reached its height of prestige in the late 19th century but then lost prominence until 1994, when the city spearheaded an effort to transform an old warehouse into the WestEnd Market, a complex of small shops and upscale restaurants. Now, granted a new focal point and infused with renewed energy, this neighborhood is of late home to luxury condos, design studios, antique shops, bars, restaurants, the Warehouse Theatre and West End Field, home of the Greenville Drive baseball team.
