- For over a hundred years, Greenwich has been a magnet for the wealthy elite of New York City. Located on peaceful Long Island Sound and only a short commute from bustling New York City, this enclave of wealth has fittingly come to be known as part of the Gold Coast.
- The first settlers arrived in the Greenwich area in 1640 and proceeded to strike a gentlemanly land deal with the local Siwanoy Indian tribe. But later, the relationship went sour, and the settlers massacred nearly the whole tribe.
