10. Sitio Arqueológico Kaminal Juyú

ZONA 7.   Mayan ruins are located in the heart of Guatemala City in what is today Zona 7. The ancient city flourished between 300 BC and 900 AD in the region. The ruins include several former pyramids and other Mayan artifacts. The nearby village is surrounded today by the outgrowth of the city but travelers won't want to miss a day-trip to the area to see the remnants of a once-great civilization.   (© 10Best)
