5. Mercado Central

ZONA 1.   Guatemala City's Central Market is a hive of activity that winds its way through an underground patchwork of stalls and displays. Hawkers offer all and sundry wares, including woolen and handmade clothing, artifacts, jewelry and collectible items. Interestingly, the market was once home to the city's first burial site and has had many uses throughout its history.   (© 10Best)
