A historical and architectural treasure, this cathedral bears the distinction of being the first Anglican church formed outside of Britain; it was founded by King George II's proclamation in 1749. It's also the country's oldest house of worship. The church's stained glass windows and classic Georgian style draw admirers to its doors. Interestingly enough, the church bears the marks of the horrific Halifax Explosion of 1917 as a piece of flying debris permanently embedded itself in the wall over the nave doors.
