8. Solitary Island

Located along the northwest side of the popular West Lake, Solitary Island is one of the area's most notable sightseeing destinations. It offers outstanding views of the lake and is linked to the shore by Xiling Bridge. The island includes a number of attractions, including Buddhist sculpture, Peak That Flew From Afar, and Lingyin Temple as well as the Zhejiang Provincial Museum which boasts the oldest cultivated rice grains in the world (over 7000 years old).   (© 10Best)
