HEBER CITY. Train aficionados will thrill to this glimpse of yesteryear, and children will squirm with delight. The steam railroad that once carried people, livestock, and goods between Provo and Heber City now takes passengers on a scenic route through the Utah countryside. Visitors are greeted by lakeside vistas, canyon views, and all the natural beauty of the Heber Valley. The charming train has been featured in television programs and movies and hosts special events nights, like murder mysteries and a holiday dramatization of "The Polar Express" children's book. The 100-year old train offers a leisurely ride and takes about an hour and a half for a round trip.
