HELEN.
As you might expect (or hope!), this popular establishment is located under a bridge along the river, close to downtown Helen. The tavern's international menu includes popular Bavarian dishes along with steaks, chicken, and seafood. Also served are vegetarian fare, pastas, sandwiches, and Mexican entrees. As the night progresses, the location gets more festive.

God Awful
This is the worst restaurant experience I've ever been through. I myself am a server and from my experience and understanding of the crap in the industry this is still the worst restaurant in GA, as far as I'm concerned. It started with drinks taking 10 minutes, followed by Salad, Chips, Salsa and Cheese Dip, which took another 20 min, which all looked and tasted like they were from the local grocery store's generic section. After an hour and a half of waiting my party of 5 and I decided to leave but by that time we were starving and our slacker server said she was getting our food ready right then. We decided to stay and then got to "enjoy" a lovely array of low quality highly priced food. The server did apologize profusely but seemed more interested in covering her own ass instead of truly apologizing. She let a so-called manager know of the situation and they took off the gratuity and only 20% of the tab. I myself work for the big boys of restaurants and know what to expect in fixing most situations. As far as I'm concerned this place can be swept down river with their food and management following closely behind. I WILL let everyone I know, know about the Troll Tavern and I hope no one else has to suffer from this tourist trap style of restaurants.

What A Waist of Time and Money
What a waist of time and money. I am not real picky about service but this place goes down as the worst ever! It started when I server took off before we even got our food. (Left for the day). Then our food sat in the kitchen until I asked someone to check on it for us. Everything was cold and nasty as hell. The prices are jacked up. Chicken tenders for $14 bucks. The Wendy’s actually has better food and friendlier service. We had a table of nine and no one liked anything they received. I actually sent my food back and explained I did not care for anything else. The manager Veronica became very offensive. Instead of coming to the table and apologizing for our food being messed up she came out to argue with us. It actually took one hour just for us to get our tickets, pay and leave. The staff was trying to be helpful but with management like Veronica they are all screwed. Rude, Rude, Rude! Veronica brought out a very lucky side of all of us when all she had to do was remove the meal from my check. She wanted to make me eat something that was not worth eating and that I certainly was not going to pay for. Forget about any recourse because the owners are not contactable. Veronica is the rabid pit bull that will be the reason why this place will close down. I guess they figure the Helen, Ga. Is a tourist trap and they will never hear or see from you again so they can do whatever they like. Horrible place!

This place sucks!
First of all, the management at this place does not care about the customers, or their own employees. I ate at this restaurant the other day and ordered a daquari (for ten dollars). The daquari was very watered down and I let the waitress know. She didn't do anything about it and I asked to speak with the manager. When the manager came she had a huge attitue problem and was very rude. She told me there was nothing she could do about the drink and changed me for it even though I did not drink any of it. When we asked the waitress what the manager's problem was, she said it is family owned, and they are in a tourist area, so they do not have to really worry much about repeat customers. She also told us that if she has to take a drink off the ticket, she has to pay for it out of her own pocket. This drink came from a preblended machine, and probably didn't cost more than a dollar to make!
