Great Place
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I must say in the years that I've been going to Helen, I've never had a bad experience at Hofer's. The food has always been so wonderful, and the cozy atmosphere always makes me feel like I'm back in Germany! I've always found the service to be great and helpful. Everyone from the waitresses to the cashiers have always been great and helpful. Keep up the good work Hofer's!

Fantastic Restaurant!!!
If you eat in only one place in Helen, this MUST be it. It was not just one of the best German meals I have eaten, but one of the best meals of ANY kind I have eaten! The sauerbraten is absolutely phenomenal!! The owner was gracious and friendly, in true Bavarian fashion. The portions were more than ample and the apple strudel was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Where should I begin?? The food was a shame, and the service was horrible. We were never offered a beverage refill. The restaurant charges a MANDATORY 20% gratuity on parties of 6 or more. Our party (4 people and a baby), was charge that 20%. The serving portions are ridiculously small (kids size), when you take in considerations what you paid for it (avg plate $18). It was an over all a very bad experience. I recommend trying another restaurant, even street vendors, before trying this one!

food was mediorce and the service was HORRIBLE! Manager/Owner told my party (4 people who spend +$50 for lunch) that we had to leave. We were still finishing our coffee and iced tea. He grabbed plates off table and told us to get out. He needed the table. We had barely finished our meal. Then he yelled at me out on the sidewalk that we were "costing him money" and that he was not being rude. We are a biracial couple and we were the only ones asked to leave. Racially motived? I don't know but it made our expereince horrible. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone!

This is a wonderful little restaurant stuck in between shops. There is a cute German man that plays the keyboard and everyone is very nice. The food was great!
