5. Hofer's Bakery and Cafe

my daughters wedding cake that was picked up on Friday was horrible. She cried and was very upset. The cake was expensive and was dry and crumbly. I will never order from there or recomend anyone order a wedding cake from Hofer's. Mother of the bride

Average food, average service
I'll cut to the chase. The service was pretty slow and indifferent. The waitress, while pleasant, didn't really seem to care about anything. She forgot to bring the sweet tea and spicy mustard I asked for until the end of the meal. The meal itself was no better than you'd find at a family picnic. What made it worse is that almost every single dish on the menu had pork in it. If you are allergic to pork (as I am) - you'll be limited to eating one of the four non-pork meals at the place. All in all....go to the Unicoi Lodge restaurant. It's not in town - but you'll never have a better meal in your life. This place wasn't that great and the other reviewer that said that the pastries look better than they taste was 100% right.
