7. Old Sautee Store

SAUTEE.   This rustic, inviting general store has been serving the people of the North Georgia Mountains for more than 130 years. The wood-frame building is today both a cultural locale and a shop that offers a glimpse of history, along with modern-day goods. Among the items offered (many of which bear a Skandinavian slant) are gourmet foods, jewelry, books, and hand-made sweaters. The store is a short drive from downtown Helen and is definitely worth the trip.   (© 10Best)
