2. Catawba Science Center

Great place for children. Hands on activities are interesting and offer a chance to learn. Exhibits change fairly frequently so there's usually something new to see. Definitely something to check out if you have little ones. I wouldn't recommend it for older teens. Late night laser light shows would be of interest to some adults. Planetary equipment is state of the art. Aquariums offer hands on fun with stingrays and other sea creatures.
