3. Firefighters Museum of Catawba County

CONOVER.   Charting the history of firefighting in the area, this museum delights visitors with its array of vintage engines and equipment. It also seeks to raise awareness of how fires can be prevented and minimized. Alarm and communication systems, firefighter uniforms and gear, and actual engines prove enlightening, and lectures on fire safety drive the point home. Photographs and displays of honors and awards personalize the exhibits, and there's even a turn-of-the-century fire pole and rescue net on display.   (© 10Best)

Very interesting place to take the kids for 20 minutes. Then make sure you take them to Hickory Dickory Dock. It is really THE attraction for kids.
