3. Green Room Community Theatre

NEWTON.   Since its inception in 1986, this community theater has delighted audiences and provided an outlet to creative folks who want to bolster theater in eastern Catawba County. The Green Room's typical season includes two musicals, a children's show, a family show, and either a comedy or a drama. Additional shows are produced outside of the season, and children are given the opportunity to participate in activities after school, during the summer, and throughout the year. Past shows have included "The Sound of Music," "Anne of Green Gables," and "Steel Magnolias."   (© 10Best)
