HICKORY.   Resting along the shores of Lake Hickory, this pastoral park makes a great place to take a break or decompress from the day's events. Plenty of squirrels and birds add wildlife activity, along with a host of children and parents. Playground equipment offers the chance for fun, as do horseshoe pits, picnic areas, and a gazebo.
