I really love the Tap Room. I admit, I'm a beer/casual dining fan and I much prefer local places to all the big chains. So I may be biased. But I really like their fish & Chips, and the pub chips, and all of the sides, and the black bean burger, and the "Buffalo Bill" :) And with 20 beers on tap I can always find a good beer to go with whatever I'm eating that day. And it's nice to go hear live music someplace (Thurs., Sat., & Sund.) and not be entirely surrounded by 21 year-olds - though with the local university and college nearby it's by no means an old fogey's brew pub. It does get a bit loud, and I wouldn't bring the kids there after 8 or so, but otherwise I think there is something for everybody!

I think someone got the words "best", and "worst" mixed up. Certainly not one of the ten Best, I can assure you.

A great place to come, amazing selection for any where in the US, not just Hickory. I had a great time there and have visited several times since. Very supprised to find it open during the last snow, I asked and they said that they are open 7 days a week, including snow- a pleasent suprise for the South. A great value and fun time- very professional staff.
