4. Chili Cookoff

The Buzz -- For over 20 years, this autumnal event has encouraged local cooks to showcase their spicy concoctions. Visitors have the opportunity to sample about 40 different delicious recipes; meanwhile local musicians, such as Low Country Boil jam on stage. During the public cook-off, festival goers may cast a vote for their favorite chili, and the CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) holds a secondary competition that's evaluated by official judges. Admission price includes chili, but drinks cost an additional charge.
