4. Aqua Grille and Lounge

Don't do your anniversary at Aqua Grille!
We went twice in 2008.........once we took our best friends for their anniversary (April) and went back for our anniversary (September). Both experiences were absolutely awful. We actually tried again because we couldn't believe how bad it was and how great the reviews were. Stay away from the dinner entrees. The only option is to order an appetizer for your meal and have a drink, watch the sunset and leave!

Bad, Bad Experience, Service and Food
What a disappointing experience we had at the Aqua Grill. The service was poor, the food was marginal (at best) and when we commented how disappointed we were, even having our hotel concierge call as well, they really blew off our feedback. We vacation in Hilton Head every year and this restaurant was our biggest disappointment of anywhere we've eaten of this caliber.

Since when are five adults and a toddler considered a party of six with a twenty percent gratuity. The menu clearly stated 15 percent for six or more, but no problem we paid, The service was slow, and if it was to take that long we would've expected the food to have tasted better. We will never return. In my opinion this restaurant is not a place to go out for a nice night out on the town. I dont give this restaurant any stars.

Aqua Grill and Lounge offers a wonderful dining experience while on your vacation in Hilton Head. The Bento Box is fantastic, but for a truly great dining experience try a medley of "Sarters" such as the Tempura Lobster Tail, Firecracker Kobe Beef, Tuna Sashimi and Lobster Ragoon. The wine selection is fabulous. My daughter and I ate there during our vacation last year and have already made reservations for 3 nights at Aqua during our vacation this year! We can hardly wait.

The food at Aqua was average. The Thai Spring Rolls were served at room temperature. They were good, but definitely not exceptional. The soup of the day was a Broccoli Gruyere. It was thin and runny and the broccoli was mushy. My Blackened Mahi Mahi was very good, but it was not worth the price. My wife made the same comment about her Grouper. Our waiter seemed lethargic and like he did not really care. My wife said he seemed like he was still getting over a hangover. Out total bill came to $80.00 before the tip. From my previous dining experiences, the meal was worth about $45.00 or $50.00. Aqua has average to good food that is way overpriced.

Aqua was a bit dissapointing for the price. The air was stale, ans service was just OK. I waited 25 minutes to get my check after we had finished dessert. The busboy cleaning the next table spilled a drink and there was ice on the floor that was never cleaned up prior to the next group being seated...could have been a safety hazard! The contemporary furnishings were nice, food just OK. We were stuck in a corner next to a large group, so not the best seating arrangement. i wiill not go back - there are many more wonderful restaurants to soend $100 on dinner for 2.
