About 10Best's Hilton Head Restaurants Selections:
To capture the full Hilton Head experience, digging into local seafood and other Lowcountry favorites is a must. Folks love sitting by the water at Hudson's and nibbling on buckets of peel'n'eat shrimp. And if you ask any islander, dinner at Old Fort Pub is an enchanting experience unique to Hilton Head. From the elegant dining room, gaze at the sunset over Skull Creek and savor some of the region's finest cooking with your wine selection, chosen from over 100 labels. A handful of swanky establishments, like Aqua and Redfish, capitalize on the island's amazing seafood while delivering imaginative plates in contemporary atmospheres. Most of these fine dining spots feature a selection of choice steak, lamb or poultry to satisfy those who'd rather skip the catch of the day. For a different twist, try the artful Northern Italian cuisine at Michael Anthony's or the succulent New American creations at the Sage Room.

After having several dismal but nonetheless expensive dinners at old favorites, this establishment was recommended in the best manner – by a local. Michael Anthony's has a nice atmosphere and is not touristy yet...The food was delicious; in particular, the braised veal (braised meats are apparently a specialty of the chef), gnocchi, as well as the Insalata con Gorgonzola, Pera e Pignoli. The gelato should not be missed, either. Reservations are recommended.

We enjoyed a group dinner where the very talented chef chose our courses and paired them with wine. The meal was simply but so elegant and the service was impeccable. My white napkin was replaced with a black napkin so white lint was not left on my black dress. Nice touch. Great experience and would highly recommend for a special night out. Also, the Chocolate Shouffle Cake is amazing.

Excellent Southwestern / Mexican food and among the best restaurants on HHI. It's more upscale than your usual Mexican restaurant with a bit more of an eclectic menu. The two bars (rooftop and 1st floor) are both great places for a drink. The Ceviche and Santa Fe Plato Combination (really a main dish) make great appetizers – the queso fundido was okay. Both the Painted Desert and Black Bean soup were excellent, the Caesar Salad was okay. As far as main dishes we haven't had anything bad yet. The Grouper, Chimichanga, and Santa Fe Plato Combination have all proven to be very good.
