DOWNTOWN. Documenting Hawaii's rich maritime history, this museum offers exhibits on work, play, and culture. Among its attractions are a replica of a Polynesian canoe that proved the scope of ancient sea voyages, along with an historic, four-masted ship that once plied Pacific waters. A whale skeleton, commercial fishing exhibits, presentations on surfing and windsurfing, and displays on the Hawaiian islands' fiery creation also spark the imagination and educate the mind. A gift shop with museum souvenirs is available.
